LEEDS FESTIVAL 2008

It maybe younger than its twin event in Reading but the Leeds Festival has soon carved an identity of its own. It maybe younger than its twin event in Reading but the Leeds Festival has soon carved an identity of its own. Although the two events share a rotating line-up Leeds' festival site at Branham Park gives the feeling of being in the countryside unlike the its sister event which is near the centre of Reading.

The line-up focuses mainly on Rock with the likes of Iron Maiden, Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins performing over the last few years, but recently the event has become more diverse in its music policy.

The main open-air stage is filled with the biggest players in Rock and it's down to the four tents to deliver the diversity of indie, hip hop, punk, ska, dance and comedy.

In the last few years the smaller tents have been packed out to see emerging talent perform on a larger stage including Arctic Monkeys and last summer's pop princess Kate Nash.

The event also has fairgrounds, late night entertainment and a Silent Disco.less
