The Killers: Reading rubbish is "worrying"

The Las Vegas band, who headlined last weekend's joint rock weekender, are concerned by the amount of rubbish left behind at festivals.

With singer Brandon Flowers now a proud dad, the group have discussed ways to clean up their act on their next tour.

Bassist Mark Stoermer said: "We've discussed our carbon footprint and it is something we are going to think about in the future.

"It's worrying to see how much waste is left over at gigs and festivals. It does make you think."

The band are currently working on their third album, from which the song 'Spaceman' was debuted at Reading and Leeds.

Singer Brandon Flowers said: "It'll be out some time in November and we might be back on tour in November or even October - who knows?"

The Killers' concern over their environmental impact while on tour follows that of Radiohead, who this year refused to play any events that didn't have eco-friendly policies in place.
